Asked Questions Answered

Why are you so obsessed with Porsches?

Engineering excellence. There is no substitute. See “My Porsche Story” for a more detailed explanation of how my obsession began.

Why are you so obsessed with Turbos?

I love the engineering applied to extracting more power from the motor. While this may not seem impressive by today's standards, back in the 1970s, this was a remarkable feat. And I like having what feels like infinite power.

What about Turbo lag?

For me, it adds to the car's personality and makes it feel more alive. Another characteristic to manage, knowing how and when it will kick in. Keeping the motor spun up to keep the Turbos engaged. It all adds to the fun. With that said, the 993 manages it very smoothly compared to its 930 ancestor. In today's implementations, this issue is being managed more effectively with each generation, culminating in the most recent t-hybrid technology, which virtually eliminates it.

Which is your favorite Porsche?

Whichever one I am sitting behind the wheel of.

What cars would you like to add to your collection?

I want to add a Porsche 992.2 GT2 RS and a 1970s-era Porsche 930 to the collection in the future. These would both make great additions, checking off a few more boxes, including hybrid and electric turbos, to the collection.

Do you have any regrets?

Yes, not buying my first Porsche sooner.

Do you drive any other brand of cars?

Yes, I have a Ford F-150 that I use for truck-related tasks, and a 2015 Audi S7 that I refer to as my beater car.

What cameras do you use?

I am heavily invested in the Canon ecosystem. I use a Canon R5 Mk II as my primary camera, but I also use R5 and R7 bodies, as well as my iPhone. The best camera is the one you have with you.
