My Car History

I have only including cars that I consider mine vs. the many we have owned that were or are either my wife’s cars or what I would call family vehicles.
st) 1967 White Ford Mustang – 200 cu in. straight-six, 3-speed manual. My Dad bought this new and sold it to me when I turned sixteen, and the car learned to drive in. I was always unsatisfied by the fact that this had the straight-six and not a 289 and goes to the root don’t skimp on the power mentality.
nd) 1973 Baby Blue Ford Pinto Station Wagon – 2.0L, 4-speed manual. I had a group of buddies at this time who all had these. We crudely lowered them by cutting the front springs and flipping one of the leaf springs in the back, but it did the trick and was cheap.
rd) 1972 Root beer brown Ford Capri – 2.0L, 4-speed manual. I also bought this car from my Dad. Thinking about it, this was the first German car for both of us. This car shared the same engine as in the Pinto, so I was able to take the manifold, side-draft Weber, and headers over to this car.
th) 1976 Black Cat Capri II – 2.8L V6, 4-speed manual. I kept this car until my first son was on his way and needed a car that was a bit more family-friendly.
th) 1986 Black Merkur XR4Ti – 2.3L turbo, 5-speed manual. This was my first new car. Had bought new cars for my wife, but this was my first, and true for the remainder of the list.
th) 1992 White Ford (/Mazda) Escort GT 1.8L, 5-speed manual. With a ~150mi commute at the time, I opted for something with reasonable gas mileage and more visible on the road (and more tickets).
th) 1996 Black Porsche 911 Turbo, 6-speed manual. The 933 Turbo was the realization of my dream car from my teenage years (a 1976 911 Turbo).
th) 2015 Phantom Black Audi S7 (4.0L V8 twin turbo), automatic. One key purpose of this car was for my work as I needed to have an up-to-date reference and firsthand experience of what our customers were building and experience our products in their end products.
th) 2021 Jet Black Metallic Porsche Taycan Turbo S. The Taycan replaces the S7 as my daily driver.
th) 2024 Jet Black Metallic Porsche 911 Turbo S. This is my daily 911.
